Jennifer R. Luitjens, Attorney
 Jennifer R. Luitjens is Certified as an Elder Law Attorney (CELA) by the National Elder Law Foundation (NELF), a non-profit organization accredited by the American Bar Association. She has practiced exclusively in the field of estate planning and elder law since receiving her juris doctor from Boston College in 1996 and became associated with the Jarrett Law Office in 2008. Prior to joining this firm’s team of legal professionals, Jennifer was associated with a firm in Essex Junction, and previously with firms in Kentucky and Massachusetts, including her own practice in Groton, Massachusetts. She is admitted to practice in Vermont as well as Massachusetts*.
Jennifer serves on the Board of Directors and is the acting Treasurer for the National Elder Law Foundation (NELF), the organization which certifies elder law attorneys and is dedicated to the development and improvement of the professional competence of lawyers in the area of elder law. She currently serves on various NELF committees and previously served on the CELA Recertification Examination Committee. She has been a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys (NAELA) for over 11 years, and is the President of the Vermont Chapter of NAELA. Jennifer is also a member of the Vermont Elder Resource Group (VERG), a non-profit entity which promotes successful aging and provides professionals and organizations serving Vermont elders with education and networking opportunities.
Jennifer has presented to other estate and elder law attorneys in continuing education forums as well as offered educational opportunities to the public through spoken presentations and published newspaper articles.
While attending B. C. Law School, Jennifer served as a summer clerk with the U.S. Attorney’s office in Burlington, Vermont, and worked at the B.C. Legal Assistance Bureau. She earned her B.S. degree, magna cum laude, from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. Jennifer lives in Jericho with her husband and three children.
