Launa L. Slater, Attorney

Attorney Launa L. Slater joined the firm as an associate in 2016.  Her primary areas of practice include estate planning, guardianship, and estate administration.

Launa L. Slater, Esq. grew up in Virginia.  She earned a B.A. from Flagler College in St. Augustine, Florida.  During law school, Launa clerked for two Rhode Island probate court judges and the Rhode Island Department of Elderly Affairs.  In 2010, Launa graduated cum laude from Roger Williams University School of Law in Bristol, Rhode Island, and thereafter was admitted to the Rhode Island Bar.  She practiced elder law for two years prior to moving to Vermont.

After moving to Vermont, Launa clerked with Vermont Legal Aid where she worked on the Elder Law Project. The Elder Law Project consists of the Senior Citizens Law Project and the Medicare Advocacy Project, and focuses on the legal needs and problems of seniors. Launa was admitted to the Vermont Bar and has been practicing Estate and Elder Law since 2013.

She is a member of the Financial Abuse Specialists Team (“FAST”), the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys (“NAELA”), and the NAELA Journal Editorial Board.  Launa is the President of the Vermont Chapter of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys (NAELA).

Launa resides with her family in Burlington.
